I loved this book; hence I rate it four out of four stars
Have you ever been sent a text and struggled to understand its meaning? Have you ever had to browse a meme to understand it simply because of short forms or acronyms? Have you had to pretend that you understood a message to avoid being embarrassed simply because you don’t know the meaning of the acronym used? We’ve all been there at some point, and that is why this book is the perfect book for you.
Sophia Jane compiled a list of acronyms in an orderly manner. The book contains acronyms and their meanings, perhaps almost all the acronyms ever used. The author began by telling us why she felt the need to write the book and how it went from fun to an actual book. She talks about the difficulties involved in understanding acronyms and how the use of acronyms came about. Read this book to find out more.
This book contained a lot of positive aspects. At some point, you might want to ask, “why not just google it?”. I’ll tell you why. In the book21st Century Language of Texting 1st Edition, Sophia poured out extensive knowledge. The book is arranged in an orderly and alphabetical manner so that it is easy to search for any word at all that you may want. You will find up to four meanings of the same acronym, which allows you to pick the meaning that suits the context of the text somebody used the acronym. Reading this book gives you deep knowledge and understanding of these acronyms. It is truly enlightening, and I wondered if I should write the review using these acronyms. The author provided acronyms for almost every word I could find, and I got to discover the meaning of some words which I could not comprehend before reading this book.
The book was very informative. I didn’t know that crap was an acronym, and neither did I know the origin of ok. I did not find any errors while reading the book. It was exceptionally well edited. The only aspect I found not exciting was the tearful fact that our grandmas may be able to understand more of our notes if they get a hold of this book. Don’t mind me, that was from the author.
The author did an amazing job, and there was no reason to deduct a star from my rating. I recommend this book to anyone who loves texting or anyone who likes discovery and learning new things. This book would prove to be a catch. Although, as the author says, “this book is not to be read if you take offense to any English word pertaining to gender, race, sexuality, regions, belief, or anything in general.
